UK Recognised Course List

Superyacht Captain Command and Control Course

Run by:  West Nautical Ltd

Period of recognition: 22 July 2016-22 July 2019WN - Logo (small)

Course location: South Shields Marine School, Newcastle on Tyne.  This two-day course, designed for a maximum of twelve delegates, is part of a three-day programme to develop command and control behaviours in super-yacht mates and masters.

Safe Entry into Enclosed Spaces

Period of recognition: 11 November 2016-11 November 2019

Course location: Tyne & Wear.  This one day course covers how to enter and work safely in an enclosed space including correct use of an emergency escape breathing device (EEBD)

Entry into Enclosed/Dangerous Spaces

Period of recognition: 19 January 2017-19 January 2020

Course location: Glasgow.  A one day course with a mixture of classroom and practical work provides delegates with the skills to prevent enclosed space incidents occurring.

Course location: South Tyneside.  A one week course designed to provide knowledge of handling vessels in close proximity to one another, ship planning and bridge team management techniques in a ship to ship context.

Human Element in Leadership Training

Run by:  PHILCAMSAT (Philippine Center for Advance Maritime Simulation and Training)

Period of recognition: 1 January 2016-31 December 2018

Course location: Philcamsat, Makati City, Manila, Philippines

This five day course, designed for a maximum of twelve delegates, aims to give masters and officers the education and training requirements to control the operation of the ship and care for persons onboard at management level.
