UK Recognised Course List

Train the Trainer

Run by:  Maritime Skills Academy, Dover

Period of recognition: 17 September 2019-16 September 2022

Course location: Whitfield, Dover.  A three-day course aimed at giving the students the necessary knowledge and skills to enable them to research, design, prepare and deliver short professional courses for maritime people working, or wishing to work, within the maritime industry.

Superyacht Captain Command and Control Course

Run by:  West Nautical Ltd

Period of recognition: 22 July 2016-22 July 2019 *Course re-recognition in processWN - Logo (small)

Course location: South Shields Marine School, Newcastle on Tyne.  This two-day course, designed for a maximum of twelve delegates, is part of a three-day programme to develop command and control behaviours in super-yacht mates and masters.

Safe Entry into Enclosed Spaces

Period of recognition: 11 November 2016-31 October 2019

Course location: Tyne & Wear.  This one day course covers how to enter and work safely in an enclosed space including correct use of an emergency escape breathing device (EEBD)

Entry into Enclosed/Dangerous Spaces

Run by: Stream Marine Training Ltd

Period of recognition: 19 January 2017-18 January 2020

Course location: Glasgow.  A one day course with a mixture of classroom and practical work provides delegates with the skills to prevent enclosed space incidents occurring.

Working at Height and Rescue

Period of recognition: 19 January 2017-18 January 2020

Course location: Glasgow.  A one day course providing training for personnel expected to work at height.

Period of recognition: 11 January 2017-10 January 2020

Course location: South Tyneside.  A one week course designed to provide knowledge of handling vessels in close proximity to one another, ship planning and bridge team management techniques in a ship to ship context.
