Spotlight on maritime careers: skills and careers hub
The UK Chamber of Shipping, MNTB and Nautilus International have joined together to host a skills and careers hub as part of London International Shipping Week. The hub will consist of three sessions over the course of the day aiming to highlight, discuss and analyse current and future seafaring skills and careers.
The three events are:
MNTB Breakfast Briefing, 0830-1030, covering inclusivity and fair treatment at sea. It is important that all seafarers have positive shipboard experiences. The industry has a range of materials to support companies and individuals as they progress their career and their use will be highlighted during this session.

‘So where are the jobs?’, 1030 -1300, will consist of a panel debate, audience opinion and questions to discuss the availability and quantity of jobs for newly qualified and existing seafarers. The panel will have a diverse representation of industry to cover; seafarer statistics and projection, economic drivers and market forces, job creation, recruitment and both a company and seafarer perspective.
