MNTB are delighted to announce their new appointment in the capacity of Training Development Manager. Ibrahim Ismail, who joins us from a previous career within Further Education, has over 14 years experience in lecturing, assessing and delivering courses, particularly in vocational learning. He has a track record as an accomplished assessor and teacher and has worked with various awarding bodies such as Edexcel, City and Guilds along with large employers and SMEs across London and the South East for VQs and Apprenticeships.
Ibrahim’s role at the MNTB is responsibility for our Rating training and employment strategy, taking forward the Rating Trailblazer Apprenticeships in the first instance. He will be working on the design of Apprenticeship standards and assessment plans for the Catering, Engine Room, Electro Technical and Onboard Services Ratings over the coming months and create apprenticeship plans and standards taking them forward.
Ibrahim will provide support to employers to encourage and assist with take up of the apprenticeships and Rating training, ensuring access to funding and other resources. He will also be working with our nautical colleges to assist in their availability of Rating training courses and apprenticeship programmes across the UK.
Ibrahim’s experience and expertise provides us with the opportunity to help raise the Rating profile and embed Rating training, apprenticeships and employment opportunities across those industry sectors and shipping companies that are looking to secure their future UK Rating workforce.
