MNTB Training Course Recognition Service – non STCW

The MNTB has developed a Course Recognition Service for non-STCW courses to help companies determine whether a training course is sound, quality assured and will deliver effective training to meet their specified needs.

Guidelines have been developed that the MNTB considers demonstrate good practice in training course provision. Training companies can apply for recognition for non-STCW courses, which will be achieved through a rigorous review process, success in which provides permission to use the ‘MNTB recognised course’ logo on specific course literature.  Recognised courses are also listed on the following MNTB Recognised Courses web page.

The MNTB Good Practice Guidelines, Training Course Recognition Process and Criteria document provides the guidelines on good practice in course provision and sets out the process and criteria by which non-STCW training courses will be formally recognised. It will help a training company determine whether it wishes to seek recognition for any of its courses.  It can also be used to provide a benchmark for companies and individuals buying training provision, regardless of whether a specific training course has received MNTB recognition.
